SHOCKWAVE THERAPY IS A SAFE, NON-INVASIVE AND PAINLESS TREATMENT FOR ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

TACKLING ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION HAS NEVER BEEN EASIER

THANKS TO OUR DOCTORS

Erectile dysfunction is usually caused by low blood flow to the penis or a problem with the nerves that control erections. This is a result of other conditions, such as hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol or diabetes. These conditions narrow the blood vessels and reduce blood flow to the penis or damage the erectile nerves.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Li-ESWT: NON-INVASIVE TREATMENT

Low Intensity Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (Li-ESWT) is a non-invasive, in-office treatment requiring no anesthesia. Shockwaves are delivered outside of the body to the area of discomfort utilizing a combination of biofeedback and “Point and Shoot” method, triggering the body’s own repair mechanisms to initiate natural healing.

EASE OF USE

With SmartFocus™ channel of energy, a broad depth of tissue can be addressed simultaneously, from superfical to deep tissue, without the need to perform cumbersome and time consuming change of gel pads during treatment.

PATENTED SMARTFOCUS™ TECHNOLOGY BY DORNIER

Dornier Aries SmartFocusTM technology emits energy waves in a broad and deep stimulation channel — treating all erectile structures from superficial areas in the penile shaft, to the deeper tissues in the pelvis.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION (FAQ)

Treatment is conducted 6 times, once or twice a week, for 15-20 minutes in the privacy of your doctor’s office. Using the Dornier Aries SmartFocusTM applicator and ultrasound gel, your doctor/therapist applies the shockwaves all over the surface of your penile shaft and crus.

Most patients report improvement a few weeks after they have begun treatment.

Shockwaves creates structural changes within the penile tissue while oral medications have only a temporary vessel widening effect. Hence pills have to be taken when needed whereas shock waves have a longer lasting effect.

Using shockwaves to treat ED is a very new treatment option and long-term results are not available yet. Physicians assume that the improvement time depends on the severity of the ED, the underlying cause and the age of the patient and ranges between 6-24 months or longer.

No. However, you may feel the waves and hear the device working. The physician will see to your comfort throughout the treatment.

No. Complications are extremely rare and might include light bruising or tiny skin lesions which heal within
a few days without treatment. However, there are a few contra-indications where shockwave therapy must
not be applied. Talk to your doctor to determine if shockwave treatment  is right for you.

No. You can resume normal daily activities after the procedure. Sexual abstinence is not required.

Usually not. As a privately insured patient, you might want to ask your health insurance whether it covers
shockwave therapy.
